Transferring scores to a new computer

To transfer scores to a new computer, you need to find the dolphin.ini file on each computer and copy the old one to the new computer (in the new location).

If you have version 3 of Dolphin Don’s Music School, the file should be here:

C:\Program Files\Dolphin\dolphin.ini

If you have version 4, the location varies, depending on which version of Windows you have. In version 4 of Dolphin Don’s Music School with Windows Vista, the file is here:

C:\ProgramData\Dolphin\dolphin.ini

In version 4 with Windows XP or Windows 2000, the file should be here:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

By default, Windows hides most file extensions, so you won’t see the file extension (.ini) unless you have told Windows not to “hide extensions for known file types.” To do this:

  1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer (or My Computer), select Folder Options.

  2. Click on the View tab.

  3. Make sure that “Hide extensions for unknown file types” is not checked.

By default, Windows also hides certain folders, including the folder where version 4 puts the file. To show this folder:

  1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer (or My Computer), select Folder Options.

  2. Click on the View tab.

  3. Under “Hidden files and folders,” click “Show hidden files and folders.”

Copy the dolphin.ini file from the old computer and replace the dolphin.ini file on the new computer.
