“My students love the adventure of discovering what sea creature they’ll become as they move to higher levels.”
– Facebook post from Amy McLelland, McLelland Piano Studio, Past President of Birmingham (Alabama) Music Teachers’ Association
“I am a piano teacher in Boaz, and my students love “Dolphin Don’s Music School! They do it either before or after their piano lessons, and are learning so much more than they could just at their piano lessons alone. I love the ear training and key signatures parts. Wonderful program!”

Dolphin Don’s Music School is an important part of a complete music education, but it is only one part. Studying music also involves music vocabulary, music history & literature, music creation, an introduction to instruments, instruction in how to listen to music, and many other important aspects.
Homeschool music programs come in many varieties – everything from traditional music study to private piano lessons to home school bands! However one approaches home school music instruction, music theory is a vital aspect that should not be overlooked – and Dolphin Don’s Music School is a thorough overview of the subject!
Dolphin Don’s Music School can be used to augment classroom or individual instruction in music. Piano teachers use it for additional instruction before or after lessons; general music teachers use it in a classroom setting; band directors and choir directors use it as extra study for advanced students or for the entire ensemble to learn music theory.
Computer-Assisted Instruction in Music has been around since the mainframe days of the 1960s. While there are some aspects of music that a computer absolutely cannot teach (yet), there are many areas in which computer software can be very effective – especially music theory.
